Trademarks

Here you'll find a list of the things that have come to be associated strongly with Krauser. They are his trademarks.

SURVIVAL KNIFE

Krauser's knife has become as famous as the man himself. Although he did have a barrage of weapons (not to mention the fact he is indeed a walking weapon himself) it was clear to see that Krauser felt as one with his trusty blade. It's his weapon of choice and obviously he is extremely skilled with it. The knife is unlike most regular survival/combat knives and infact not a week goes by when I'm not asked if I know of a company who makes a replica of this design.
The knife has a black handle and judging by the size comparison to Krauser's forearm it has to be at least 16 inches long although it's most noticeable feature is the engraving of a snake on the blade (there is also some inscription but I have never been able to see clearly what this says).
This weapon clearly sums up Krauser's personality - dangerous and deadly.

RED BERET

When we first meet Krauser he is wearing his red beret and continues to do so throughout the game until the final fight (unless you are one of those who like to shoot it off beforehand ;)
Even though we refer to it as a red beret, it is actually maroon in colour which has been the international symbol of elite airborne forces since its selection for use by the British Parachute Regiment in World War II.
With that information it is fair to assume that Krauser was once a member of the Air Assault or Paratroopers (which would also tie in with his helicopter crash). The insignia is quite difficult to make out and as yet I have found no resemblance to any real Airbourne Division.

CAMOUFLAGE

As we well know, Krauser is a military man so it's no surprise that the camouflage print is one of his trademarks. This particular style of camouflage is the "U.S. 6-color desert camouflage" or sometimes referred to as the "chocolate chip" or "cookie dough" camouflage pattern.
