Relationships

Ever wondered how Chris gets along with his fellow denizens of the Resident Evil universe? Read on.

Jill Valentine

Perhaps the most intriguing of all Chris' relationships is that of Jill Valentine. A fellow S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team member, Chris and Jill share perhaps the closet bond of any of the characters we meet. Although a great deal of their relationship lies in the realms of the unknown, what we do see are two invididuals who are extremely close, seem to have an unspoken bond, and will do whatever it takes to help each other out. Whether shooting off zombie dogs, protecting each other from Tyrants, or just giving each other a smile as they pass each other at work, these two almost certainly go beyond the realms of 'normal' friendship. But how far still remains to be seen.

The majority of Chris and Jill's relationship can be viewed in Classic and Remake, both of which set the scene. This is actually the last time we see them on screen together as well, although Resident Evil 3 makes mention of Chris a few times, particularly Jill's continuining search for him.

Hugs Down time

Claire Redfield

Claire is Chris' beloved sister, whom he would do anything for. His love for his sister knows no bounds, and the two are extremely close. Although he tried his best to keep Claire out of Umbrella's mess, it was not to be. She travelled to Raccoon City to find him after he 'disappeared' in the aftermath the Spencer Mansion incident, but she was soon caught up in her own outbreak. Just like her brother she managed to survive the horrors, and with renewed determination set out to find him again.

Claire then travelled to Europe, where she was caught breaking into an Umbrella facility. Taken to a prison called Rockfort Island she once again had to deal with a viral outbreak, and eventually she escaped the island only to end up in Antartica. During this time Chris had received word from Leon S. Kennedy of Claire's whereabouts and travelled to find her. The pair eventually had an emotional reunion at the Umbrella Antartic base, where they destroyed the place and flew off to take down Umbrella once and for all, finally together again.

Reunited at last Protecting

Albert Wesker

Albert Wesker was the captain of the S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team. Chris treated him respectfully and always as his superior (despite his problems with authority in the past). During the outbreak at the Spencer Mansion Chris would often ask Wesker for advice, although as the mystery began to unravel and Chris discovered that Wesker was actually behind most of it his own personal nemesis was born.

Wesker was presumed dead in the explosion of the Spencer Mansion, but as Chris would later find out, that was not the case. Wesker had injected himself with a virus beforehand and despite appearing dead, he was still very much alive. He fled before the explosion and joined up with a new company, with not only with a new lease on life, but with new superpowers as well. But it wasn't long before Chris and Wesker's paths crossed once more, as they both became entangled in Alexia Ashford's web; Wesker being after her virus, Chris after his sister.

After Chris destroyed Alexia, and had a few rather painful encounters at the hand of Wesker's new powers, the two faced off one last time. As the Umbrella facility began exploding around them, the two battled in hand to hand combat, Wesker clearly gaining the upperhand. Chris managed to fend him off long enough for the place to start falling down around them, causing both men to call it a draw and promise that the next time they met would be their last.

Confrontation Surprise meetings

Rebecca Chambers

Chris met Rebecca while searching the Spencer Mansion. The newest addition to the Bravo Team, Rebecca helped Chris out during his mission by providing him with medical assistance and information. Chris grew fond of her during their brief time together, but did tend to treat her like a child at times (despite the fact he had no problem leaving her alone in a house full of unholy creatures). Together they managed to unravel the mystery of the mansion, and they also worked together to escape it. At the end of the day Chris admires the strength young Rebecca has in her, and one would think he feels a kind of paternal protectiveness for her.

Medical assistance Still alive

Barry Burton

According to reports Barry is an old friend of Chris', and is also the one who recruited him into the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team. They worked together for a few years, but sadly in all the games they appear in these two are never seen interacting with each other on screen. Other than Barry mentioning Chris as his old friend and hoping that the blood they discover isn't Chris', their friendship remains soley in the instruction guides at this point in time.

Investigating I hope this isn't Chris'...
